Columbia, Ca — Last night´s fire in the Columbia area caused an estimated $450,000 in damages to a house and garage, and another $100,000 loss to contents.
This is according to Tuolumne County Fire Marshall Kary Hubbard. The 3,000 plus square foot residence at 11833 Baxter Quarry Rd was owned by Jeff Solo.
Firefighters had a difficult time extinguishing the flames due to fireworks that were stored in the residence. They ultimately caused a number of spot fires over a two to three acre area. The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
