MiWuk Teen Arrested For Theft Following Scuffle With Deputies

Twain Harte, Ca — Late last week, Tuolumne County Sheriff´s deputies spotted a stolen Ford Excursion on Highland Dr. in Twain Harte.
When an unidentified 17 year old walked toward the vehicle, a deputy ordered him to stop. The suspect proceeded to run away. After a scuffle with deputies, the suspect was arrested.
One of the deputies injured his knee during the ordeal and the department says he will likely be off work for a time. The juvenile also reported injuries. He was turned over to a probation officer after being medically cleared at Tuolumne General Hospital.
The vehicle was reported stolen in Monterey back on May 27th.
