Yosemite National Park, CA — A Bay Area resident´s body has been discovered in Yosemite National Park.

It was Saturday afternoon May 19th when 27 year old Kiran Yellajyosula of Santa Clara was hiking with friends. As they were heading up the Vernal Falls trail, Yellajyosula stopped and sat on a rock. According to the San Francisco Chronicle he apparently lost his balance and fell into the Merced River.

His body was spotted Tuesday and removed from the river Wednesday by a search and rescue team where it was wedged between two rocks.

Yellajyosula received a computer science and engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology six years ago. He moved to the United States where he received a master´s degree in computer science from West Virgina University in Morgantown in 2003.

At the time of his death he was employed by the Nvidia Corporation in Santa Clara.
