Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — The Forest Service announced today that most Stanislaus National Forest campgrounds and picnic areas will be open for Memorial Day Weekend.

Due to lower than normal snow pack at higher elevations, visitors will find 52 developed campgrounds offering 1,391 campsites. Forest visitors are being encouraged to contact local Ranger Stations for current information on changing conditions and the best places to camp. Yosemite National Park officials say all campgrounds that require reservations have been claimed for Memorial Day Weekend.

Three campsites north of Yosemite Valley will open for the season on Friday, May 25th, and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. They are Tamarack Flat, White Wolf, and Crane Flat.
