Sonora, Ca — The Sonora Office of the California Highway Patrol will conduct a DUI/Driver License Check Point on Friday.
The time and location is undisclosed. The check point will focus on impaired drivers, as well as those with suspended licenses.
“This check point kicks off one phase of several DUI enforcement operations that will target the impaired driver,” says Officer Tom Wills. Other similar type operations will be conducted over the summer.
Drug Recognition Technician Officers will be on duty at the check points to evaluate drivers under the influence of illegal and prescription drugs. The CHP advises that if you are going to drink alcohol at a party or while enjoying the outdoors, that you designate a driver before the planned event.
