Sonora, CA — Senior Shayla Collie is right around the corner from closing out her outstanding soccer career at Sonora High School.

Collie is very much looking forward to the next round of the playoffs coming up Thursday when the green-and-gold host Colfax in a 4pm matchup at Dunlavy Field.

The Wildcats ran their record to 24-0-1 with their 3-nil Tuesday afternoon victory over Placer High School from Auburn. It was a match in which the Wildcats controlled the tempo for the entire 80 minutes of play.

Collie says tremendous depth has been a major key in the Wildcats´ success this year under Head Coach Buzz Garvin. Earlier in the season Robin Wells was lost to a knee injury and leading scorer Lexi Kopf broke her collarbone the day prior to Tuesday´s win.

Only schools in North Carolina and Michigan rank ahead of Garvin´s 2007 squad. While Sonora has scored 133 goals in its 25 matchs, the opponents have but five scoring shots on goal.
