Calaveras Board Gives Nod To Park Agency

San Andreas, CA — The first step in creating a Calaveras County Parks and Recreation Agency has been completed.
Tuesday the Board of Supervisors showed support for the concept of creating a countywide parks agency by including a parks manager position in their 2007-2008 budget recommendations.
This was the proposal of the Parks and Recreation Task Force, which presented its final report to the board Tuesday.
The report recommended establishing a Parks and Recreation Agency, hiring a parks manager and creating a parks and recreation commission.
A resolution forming the commission is expected next week while a work plan on the rest is forthcoming.
