Countdown Continues For 50th Mother Lode Round-Up Parade & Rodeo
Sonora, CA — Thursday proved to be a workday for members of the Sheriff´s Posse in placing the signage within the main arena of the Tuolumne County Fairgrounds.
Round-Up General Chairman Al O´Brien and Rodeo Chairman Ty Wivell were both on hand to help with the day long effort of providing the signage for the community sponsors that make this annual event possible.
Inmates from the Sierra Conservation Center prepared the barns for the stock that will be used during the two day rodeo.
Friday evening it´ll be the traditional Cowboy Concert at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. That event, free to the public, will get underway at seven o´clock.
Saturday´s parade will start promptly at 10am from Restano Way and Washington St. 163 entries are scheduled to participate this year, the final year the parade will be coordinated by Jim and Kim Earll.
Saturday at two o´clock Day One of the rodeo will start at the Fairgrounds to be followed by the Fairgrounds Round-Up Rodeo Dance at eight o´clock.
Sunday morning it´ll be the Mothers´ Day Breakfast from 8am until noon at the Fairgrounds. At 10am Coy Huffman will host the Cowboy Church in the Rodeo Grandstand.
At two o´clock it´ll be the start of the final day of competition and later that afternoon the curtain will come down on the 50th Mother Lode Round-Up.
