Oil Spill Disrupts Traffic Flow

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — An oil and transmission fluid spill from a disabled Grey Line Coach USA bus has disrupted traffic in the area of Washington St. and Stockton Rd. near the main branch of Bank of America.

Hazmet teams are cleaning the area and Sonora Police are conducting traffic control operations.

Lt. Mark Stinson of the Sonora Police Department stated that the bus ran over a curb exiting the Save Mart parking lot rupturing the oil and transmission line. The bus became disabled by the time it reached the Stockton and Washington St. intersection.

The bus is being towed while city Public Works employees and the Sonora Fire Department continue with the cleanup effort. Please avoid the area if at all possible.
