Missi Elliott – Mother Lode Round Up Queen Candidate #2
Sonora, CA — 19 year old Modesto Junior College sophomore Missi Elliott is the second Queen contestant for the 2007 Mother Lode Round Up.
Missi actually hails from the Mother Lode having lived in Jamestown prior to moving to Modesto. She has two brothers and one sister.
She will enter the horsemanship competition Saturday with a bit of a handicap. While riding one of her four horses three weeks ago, she was bucked off and suffered a shattered right wrist. Today she will have the soft cast removed to be replaced by a hard cast. That will allow her to saddle up this afternoon but not, she adds, on the mount that threw her.
Elliott was encouraged to enter the competition by 2005 Mother Lode Round Up Queen Kim Silva. The toughest part of preparing for the Round Up according to Elliott, getting back in the saddle after being thrown.
The 50th Mother Lode Round Up is scheduled for May 12-13 at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. For full details of the Mother Lode Round-Up click Here
