Sonora, CA — The week of April 22nd has officially been deemed Crime Victims Rights Week in Tuolumne County.
“One of the things the criminal justice system has not done a great job of until quite recently is recognizing that not only defendants have rights, victims have rights,” said District Attorney Donald Segerstrom at Tuesday´s Board of Supervisors meeting.The rights need to be recognized, they need to be upheld, they need to be enforced.”
Four individuals were recognized for their outstanding service to crime victims. They are Detective Deborah Moss, Officer Jaemie Boeding, Easter Davidson and Cheryl Peterson.
