Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — This morning at the weekly Board of Supervisors´ meeting C.A.O. Craig Pedro will recommend that the Board approve of Sonora Regional Medical Center´s takeover of the Rural Health Clinic and the Mother Lode Medical Center from Tuolumne General Hospital effective July 1.

As of last Wednesday´s deadline, only Sonora Regional had submitted a proposal. According to a report from Pedro, based on discussions with the respective directors of the Me-Wuk Indian Health Center and the MACT Health Board, neither was positioned at this time to take on such a significant responsibility.

Proclamations and commendations at today´s meeting will include proclaiming May, 2007 as Motorcycle Awareness Month and Mental Health Awareness month. April 22-28 will also be proclaimed as Crime Victims´ Week in Tuolumne County. In addition Cathie Peacock will be commended for her notable contributions to the Commission on Aging.
