Bamber Finally Captured By Sheriff’s Department And C.H.P.
Sonora, CA — With an assist from a C.H.P. officer Sgt. Robin Hunt of the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department arrested Norvin William Bamber at one o´clock Saturday morning.
Hunt noticed Bamber driving his Ford Mustang over the yellow lines and into ongoing lanes. Bamber accelerated away following Hunt´s effort to stop his vehicle at East St. and N. Tuolumne Rd. Bamber´s car reached 80mph before finally stopping on Cedar Rd. in Tuolumne City.
Bamber tried to run but was caught by Hunt and then had to be physically restrained. It was then that Hunt was assisted by the C.H.P. officer.
Bamber was charged with felony evading arrest, resisting-obstructing a peace officer and driving under the influence. He was released from the county jail after posting $10,000 bail.
