Tuolumne And Calaveras Schools Receive Technology Grants

Sacramento, Ca — Schools in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties will receive a share of $32 million statewide from California´s Enhancing Education Through Technology grant program.

12 schools in Tuolumne County will receive a combined $15,539. Five schools in Calaveras County will share $11,770. EETT is designed to assist every student in becoming technologically literate by the time they finish the eighth grade.

In the application form for funding, eligible grantees included those schools with the highest number of students from low-income families and those that have a substantial need for help in acquiring and using technology in the classroom. Locally, Calaveras Unified will receive the largest share, $5,824. Sonora Union High School will receive the second largest amount, $3,408.
