Stewardship Council Will Hold Meeting In Sonora
Sonora, CA — The Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council will hold a Board of Directors meeting in Sonora this Tuesday.
Executive Director Jane Batty says the non-profit group was funded several years ago through a settlement by the State of California and Pacific Gas and Electric. One of the items the group is responsible for is seeing that unutilized PG&E land does not go unused.
Batty says,There´s about 1,800 acres available in Tuolumne County. It includes some areas such as Kennedy Meadows and lands around Lions Reservoir. The lands that are needed for PG&E operations will stay in PG&E´s ownership. If the land is not required for PG&E´s future operations, it will be available for donation to public entities or non-profits.”
