Lake Camanche, CA — Authorities say it was two old and unsophisticated pipe bombs that were discovered Monday at the Lake Comanche Mobile Home Park.
At around 11 a.m. workers found a suspicious object while tearing down an abandoned mobile home.
The bomb squad arrived, evacuated nearby homes and detonated the device in a pit. Further investigation revealed a similar device, which was also safely detonated.
Evacuees were allowed back into their homes after the area was declared safe.
No suspects have been identified. The investigation is being turned over to the Detectives Bureau.
