Snowstorm Headed For The Mother Lode

Hanford, CA — The National Weather Service reports a heavy snow warning is in effect from six o´clock this evening through nine o´clock tomorrow morning for the southern Sierra Nevada from Yosemite to Kings Canyon.

Snow will begin to hit the Mother Lode this evening at the 7,000 foot level dropping to as low as 3,000 feet. Total snowfall by Tuesday noon could be as much as 22 inches. This storm will also bring increasing winds along with unstable air and the possibility of thunderstorms.

By Tuesday evening the storm is expected to continue moving in an easterly direction exiting the Mother Lode.
