Supervisors Vote Down Pay Raise

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — By a 4-1 vote, the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors declined to grant themselves a 7.1 per cent pay raise this morning.

The lone dissenter was Second District Supervisor Paolo Maffei. Supervisor Mark Thornton suggested that in the future an independent body make recommendations as to potential pay increases for Board members.

Also at this morning´s meeting, County Health Officer Dr. Todd Stolp stated that the cost of a medical marijuana identification card, without insurance, would cost $126. Insurance could reduce the cost by as much as fifty percent.
