Two Weekend Solo Vehicle Accidents In Calaveras County
San Andreas, CA — Two solo vehicle accidents involving young adults took place over the weekend in Calaveras County.
The first happened Saturday on Pettinger Road in Burson. The CHP says 17-year old Karen Holmes of Valley Springs lost control of her vehicle when it crested a knoll in the roadway and its undercarriage scraped the road. The vehicle veered to the left, struck a barbed wire fence and then an oak tree. Holmes was taken to Memorial Hospital in Modesto while her passenger 18-year old Janie Forest, also of Valley Springs, was taken to Mark Twain St. Joseph´s Hospital. Both were treated for minor injuries.
Hazmat and the Office of Emergency Services were called to the scene for clean up because engine fluids leaked out of the engine case.
And on Sunday 22-year old Tyson McMahon of Modesto lost control of his vehicle on Pool Station Road after it went off onto the shoulder. The CHP says he overcorrected causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and roll over. McMahon was taken to Mark Twain St. Joseph´s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries including a possible broken left middle finger.
