High School Students Descend Upon Career Fair
Sonora, CA — Local high school students enjoyed the opportunity of putting away the textbooks and investigating a possible career at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds this morning.
It was all apart of Career Fair, an opportunity for approximately 1,100 students to interview and visit with representatives of 60 organizations. Included in the list of organizations: Sonora Regional Medical Center, Sierra Pacific Industries, the California Highway Patrol, the U.S. Forest Service, PHI Air Medical California, KCRA Television from Sacramento and Clarke Broadcasting.
The students were given a set of questions to be used, but they were also encouraged to develop their own question for what might be a potential employer.
The Career Fair was sponsored by Partners In Education. Overseeing the three hour event were Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Joe Silva and his assistant Jeanne Smith.
