Bear Valley, CA — Thanks to these latest storms Bear Valley Mountain Resort will open its lower mountain this Friday, March 2.
This portion of the resort is referred to as theGrizz” known as Grizzly Bowl and Snow Valley. The bottom of the Grizz is 6,600 feet, so it took longer to get covered in snow.
Resort officials say over the last few days ski patrol has been doing avalanche control and marking boundaries.
Jim Gentling of Bear Valley Mountain Resort says the lower mountain is for experts because the trails are black diamond and double black diamond.
