Columbia, CA — A “boil water” alert is still in effect for the Columbia area.
According to T.U.D. Operations Manager Leonard Mauro, this past weekend´s heavy rainfall caused ditches to run excessive turbidity. Some of the turbidity was able to get into the distribution system.
Mauro says the distribution system was cleaned up this afternoon and everything appears to be back to normal. The lab tests, however, will not be confirmed until late Tuesday afternoon.
For that reason, T.U.D. is advising Columbia area residents to continue boiling water for at least one minute.
