Modesto Residents Arrested On Multiple Drug Possession Charges
Sonora, CA — Two Modesto area residents were arrested early Saturday morning on Tuolumne Rd. at Morris Rd. and charged with several drug offenses.
46 year old Joseph Schreiner Collins of Peachwood Ct. in Modesto was pulled over by Sheriff´s Deputy Kelly Dickson at 1:10am while driving a 2006 grey Porsche Carrera in excess of the speed limit. Registration on the vehicle had expired.
According to the deputy´s report, Collins had been drinking. A search of the vehicle revealed over an eighth-of-an-ounce of methamphetamine, several baggies of marijuana totaling over one ounce and three glass methamphetamine smoking pipes. There were also several cans of alcoholic beverages in the vehicle.
43 year old Denise Lynette Barfield of Portbello Drive in Modesto was a passenger in the car.
Both were arrested. Collins was charged with possession-transportation of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana while driving and possession of methamphetamine smoking paraphernalia. Barfield was charged with possession-transportation of methamphetamine and marijuana.
Both individuals were booked into the County Jail and then released after posting $20,000 bail.
