San Andreas, CA — Cy Young Award winner Vida Blue will be coming to the Mother Lode to be a guest speaker at a pair of Boy Scout events.
His first appearance will be at the 3rd annual Tuolumne County Friends of Scouting Breakfast at 7am, January 31st at the Best Western Sonora Oaks Conference Center.
The Golden Heritage District is also holding a Friends of Scouting luncheon at noon, January 31st at Greenhorn Creek in Angels Camp.
The goal is to raise $20,000 to support local scouting programs and to create awareness that scouting is a positive program for youth.
Throughout his pitching career Vida Blue played with the Oakland A´s and San Francisco Giants. In 1971, he was named American League MVP.
