Food Program Grant Available

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Groups that provide emergency food in Calaveras County are being asked to apply for a grant to help them carry out their programs.

The Calaveras Works and Human Services Agency through the federal government has received $24,837 to supplement the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP).

The purpose of the program is to hand out money from Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs in high-need areas.

Calaveras does not have a shelter program so it spends all the grant money on emergency food programs.

Public or private agencies can apply by submitting a proposal no later than January 19.

For more information contact Jane Carter at Calaveras Works & Human Services Agency at (209) 754-6449.
