Sonora, Ca — The annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration is coming up this weekend in Sonora.
Committee member Marilyn Dungan says this will mark the 12th year of the event, and it seems to grow with each and every one. In recent years, it has drawn around 200 people.
Dungan says,The program consists of a keynote speaker named Eddie Moore Jr. who is coming here from Seattle, Washington. He´s a nationally known diversity trainer.”
The theme this year isThe Challenges of Diversity,” and Moore will talk on the topic. Moore is currently a diversity director at the Bush School in Seattle.
The event begins at 2pm this Sunday at the Sonora Opera Hall. The afternoon will also include some other special performances. It is free of charge to attend.
