Morning Accident Marks Second Fatality In Amador This Year
Amador County, CA — A fatal accident occurred in Amador County this morning bringing the total number of fatalities for 2007 to two.
32-year old Jeffrey Taylor of Sutter Creek perished Thursday morning while riding as a passenger in a 2000 Chevrolet driven by 23-year old Jeffrey Mangano of Pioneer.
The CHP says at around 12:55 a.m., Mangano was driving on Highway 16. As he approached Highway 124, he failed to negotiate the curve. The vehicle overturned and collided with an embankment.
Taylor was one of three passengers in the car. The rest of the car´s occupants were taken to area hospitals with minor to major injuries.
Mangano was arrested before being taken to Sutter Roseville Hospital.
This follows the head-on accident on January 3, which took the life of 53-year old David Lamont Carter of Lathrop.
