Family To Family Delivers Holiday Joy
Sonora, CA — Law enforcement officials made many stops at residences across Tuolumne County Saturday morning, but it wasn´t to hand out tickets or conduct investigations.
179 Tuolumne County families were delivered boxes of food and toys as part of the 21st annual Family to Family project put on by Clarke Broadcasting and Benites Distributing.
?People are actually quite surprised to see a law enforcement officer pull up and jump out of the car with all of these gifts,? says CHP Officer Tom Wills. ?It is a wonderful time of year when everyone can come together and help the people within our community.?
The boxes were packaged up and placed into vehicles driven by representatives from the Sheriff´s Office, Highway Patrol, Sonora PD, CAL Fire and others who simply just wished to volunteer.
?I think this is great,? says Sgt. Eric Roberts with the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Office. ?This is a good opportunity for us to get out and do something good and positive for others.?
A total of 262 boxes were delivered, including toys for 513 children.
