Sponsored by:

Mariposa, CA — 29-year-old Davin Craig Mosher was sentenced to three years of probation, 60 hours of community service and a $500 fine for accidentally starting the 35,000 acre Telegraph Fire on August 25th near Yosemite National Park.

Mosher was charged with two misdemeanor counts, one for carelessly starting the fire and another for being in possession of unregistered assault rifles. Since the fire did over $30 million in damage, he is still subject to other potential fines.

?The judge reserved the issue of restitution, which is of course going to be the big issue in this case,? says Mariposa County District Attorney Bob Brown. ?The court could still decide at a later date that he should be ordered to pay back the state and the individuals that have been harmed as a result of his conduct.?

The sentencing was handed down at 9am in the Mariposa County Courthouse.
