Mosher To Be Sentenced For Starting Telegraph Fire

Mariposa, Ca — 29-year-old Davin Craig Mosher will be sentenced in the Mariposa County Courthouse Thursday for accidentally starting the 34,000 acre Telegraph Fire back on August 25th near Yosemite National Park.
Mosher was target shooting with steel-jacketed ammunition, thinking that he was actually using copper bullets which do not put out as much heat.
Mariposa County District Attorney Bob Brown says that Mosher is scheduled to appear in court at 9am.
Since Mosher was charged with just a misdemeanor, rather than a felony, he is expected to be sentenced to community service, rather than charged with the $40 million suppression costs.
