Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — The Christmas Season officially arrived in downtown Sonora Friday evening as lighted floats traveled down Washington St. for the 25th annual Historic Downtown Sonora Christmas Parade.

?We had 85 entries, and we have more cars and floats than we´ve ever had,? says Parade Coordinator Shiela Wilkinson. ?Everyone gets into the Christmas spirit and downtown lights up.?

The parade featured floats from area churches, businesses, organizations and was capped off by an appearance from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

The parade began at 5:30pm at the Red Church and continued south on Washington St. to Restano Way. Thousands lined the streets downtown.

The Twain Harte Annual Lighted Christmas Parade will be held Friday, December 5, beginning at 6pm. The following day, Saturday, December 6, at 10am is the Angels Camp Holiday Parade. On Friday, December 12, starting at 6pm is the Tuolumne Fire Department´s 16th annual Christmas Parade.
