Calaveras High Headed For Second Season Play
San Andreas, CA — Under rookie Head Coach Jason Weatherby the Calaveras High Redskins are headed for Escalon to meet the undefeated Cougars in an opening round playoff matchup Friday evening.
The Redskins finished the regular season with a 7-3 record. The Mother Lode League record was 4-1 for a second place finish behind Argonaut. That marked the first time in three years CHS failed to capture the league title.
According to Weatherly high powered Escalon simply doesn´t make mistakes on either side of the ball. The Cougars are experienced and well disciplined in running up a 10-0 record and capturing the Trans Valley League title.
Weatherby feels the strength of his team is his linebackers and running backs. He credits senior running back and free safety Stephen Klith as being the leader that really stands out among all the Redskins.
