T.U.D. Set For South Fork Stanislaus River Water Supply Reliability Project Meeting

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne Utilities District will be hosting the first of several meetings regarding the South Fork Stanislaus River Water Supply Reliability Project Wednesday evening at seven o´clock.

The purpose of the project is to review and analyze the reliability of the P.G.& E. Tuolumne Main Canal system between Lyons Reservoir and the Section Four ditch near Twain Harte.

This meeting is the first of several meetings that T.U.D. will host to look at potential system failures, contamination and other risks associated with the Tuolumne Main Canal. T.U.D. will be seeking public input at each of these meetings.

From T.U.D. General Manager Pete Kampa, “This is a first and very important step for the district in identifying all risks to the Main Canal system and the potential impacts to the water supply for T.U.D. and its customers. We are encouraging the community to be a part of this process so that they can understand the full aspect of the existing water supply system and the challenges that P.G.& E. faces in maintaining and operating the Main Canal. Broad public input will ensure the success of this important system and water supply reliability planning project.”

The meeting is set for the T.U.D. Board Room at 18885 Nugget Blvd. off Tuolumne Rd.
