Sponsored by:

Angels Camp, Ca — Some major improvements are now in store for the Bret Harte School District with the passage of Measure K, the $18 million bond measure.

?We´re already making plans to call a special Board meeting to form the oversight committee and look at what our first project will be,? says District Superintendent Mike Chimente. ?My recommendation will be to move forward with the aquatics center.?

Major portions of Measure K include $2.5 million to construct 10 new classrooms, $2.4 million for an aquatics center, $1.4 million for a district wide HVAC upgrade, $1.3 million for a playing fields and a million dollars toward a Copperopolis area high school.

The measure will cost property taxpayers around $12.20 per $100,000 of assessed valuation for a period of 30 years. The measure was approved by a margin of 60-40%.
