Groveland, Ca — New Priest Grade has re-opened after being closed down for approximately eight hours due to a Thursday morning accident.
?We had a report of a truck that was heading in an unknown direction on State Route 120 near the Groveland area, and it ran off the road, overturned and went down an embankment about 100 ft.,? says CHP Officer Mike Buller. ?It burst into flames, and the driver escaped virtually uninjured.?
The name of the driver has not been released. The incident also caused a quarter acre vegetation fire. Crews had to close down New Priest Grade for the extended period of time due to the difficulty of removing the truck from the crash site. The accident was first reported at 8:58am.
