Pinecrest, Ca — You may notice smoke early next week due to a prescribed burn north of Pinecrest.
According to Pat Kaunert of the Stanislaus National Forest, the 212 acre burn will be ignited near the Cow Creek area.
Depending on weather and fuel moisture conditions, implementation is set for the time period between October 19-20. Once ignited, the prescribed burn is expected to continue for several days.
Smoke will be visible from Highway 108 north of Pinecrest, with drift smoke visible in canyons during the early morning and late evening hours.
