Event Will Raise Money For Suicide Prevention

Angels Camp, Ca — An annual golf tournament that raises money for suicide prevention efforts is scheduled for Saturday at Greenhorn Creek Resort in Angels Camp.

It is in memory of Rick Bergstrom, a Sonora High graduate who went on to teach grammar school in Jamestown, and later became a preacher in Arnold.

?Rick had suffered a series of clinical bouts of depression over the prior 20 years, and then committed suicide back in March of 2003,? says Mark Bergstrom, Rick´s brother. ?He was a terrific golfer, and this is an attempt to carry on his legacy and put money toward issues that have to do with suicide and depression.?

Bergstrom says the field is full for the 7th annual Rick Bergstrom Tent Classic, but notes that individuals can still take part in the dinner and silent auction that will begin at 6pm, Saturday, at Greenhorn Creek.
