Washington, DC — When the U.S. House votes on the revised economic bailout package, Republican Congressman Dan Lungren says that the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self Determination Act is expected to be included.
?That´s what we have been informed,? says Lungren. ?It is kind of a surprise, but a pleasant surprise. Whether it is the whole thing that we asked for, or only part, I do not know. I have not seen the details, but I believe that is part of the package.?
If the entire funding is included, it would mean $2.6 million for Tuolumne County roads and schools.
The Senate is debating the $700 billion economic package today, and Lungren says a vote in the House can be expected either Thursday evening or Friday morning.
