Public Hearing Set For Mountain Springs Community Project
Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Planning Commission will host an “open to the public” hearing Wednesday evening regarding the Mountain Springs Community Plan.
Community Development Director Bev Shane commented that given the dramatic changes in the plan another public meeting had to be held according to state regulations. Shane expects a number of groups and individuals that were not involved in the mitigation negotiations with the Mountain Springs developers to be present at the 7pm meeting in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at 2 S. Green Street.
The current plan calls for 600 homes as compared to the previous plan of 897 homes. In addition the latest plan calls for 223 acres of community open space, 12 acres of private open space and 29 acres for parks. The golf course already encompasses 221 acres.
Following the meeting the Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors. That will be followed by still another public hearing before a final vote of the Board is taken.
Should the meeting not be concluded by 11pm, it will be carried over until the Commission´s next scheduled meeting Oct. 15.
