EIR On Walmart Expansion Should Be Completed By End Of Year

Sonora, Ca — Walmart is continuing with plans to eventually add a grocery section to its store on Sanguinetti Rd. in Sonora.
The 27,000 square ft. expansion would be situated along the east side of the current building.
?The Draft EIR is currently being worked on and we expect to receive it from the consultants sometime around December,? says Sonora City Administrator Greg Applegate.
Once the Environmental Impact Report is completed, the next step will be to conduct public hearings before the Planning Commission. Applegate says those will likely be scheduled sometime shortly after the first of the year.
