Sonora, Ca — $72,243 was raised at last month´s Tuolumne County Meals on Wheels fundraiser held at Railtown 1897 in Jamestown.
?We came in better than last year, and were very surprised,? says Randy Hansaker, President of Sierra Senior Providers. “It was fantastic, the whole fundraising committee was just tickled to death.?
Last year the fundraiser brought in just over $60,000. It takes around $100,000 a year to keep the program afloat, so Hunsaker says that the fundraiser is a major part of its yearly budget.
?We thank the community for stepping up again,? adds Hunsaker. ?They have shown that they really care about this program and the seniors in the community that need the food.?
