DUI Checkpoint Scheduled For Sonora
Sonora, Ca — For the second consecutive Friday evening, the Sonora Police Department will establish a DUI checkpoint somewhere within the city limits.
500 drivers were screened during last Friday´s checkpoint that was set up on Hwy 49, north of Washington St. Five field sobriety tests were given, with no one being arrested for drunk driving. Three people were cited for not having a valid driver´s license, and two vehicles were towed from the scene.
?We´ll also have officers out on the remaining days of the weekend specifically looking for drunk drivers,? says Traffic Officer Jaemie Boeding. ?We just ask that you designate a driver.?
The location of tonight´s checkpoint has not been disclosed.
