Sacramento, Ca — 1st District State Senator Dave Cox helped organize a Wildfire Prevention Summit held Wednesday at the Capitol in Sacramento.
?As California faces one of the most active wildfire seasons ever experienced in its history, it is time to look at common sense solutions to prevent wildfires,? says Cox. ?Our best chance at fighting wildfires and protecting residents and their property is proper forest management and less regulation.?
Cox´s 1st District covers Calaveras County. Other notable attendees included Congressman Wally Herger, Congressman John Doolittle and Congressman Dan Lungren.
Cox says he feels that wildfire prevention and forest fuels management should be in the control of fire agencies and experts, not under the control of water board regulators or regional planning agencies.
