Slawinsky Sentencing Continued

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The sentencing for Robert Earl and Paul Curtis Slawinsky on the charge of voluntary manslaughter in the death of Carl Stephen Knight in April was continued this afternoon until Thursday, August 14 at 3:30pm in Department One of Superior Court.

Because there exists the ever so slight possibility that the body discoverd by a boater Friday at approximately seven o´clock in the Schoolhouse Cove area of Lake Don Pedro may be that of Knight, today´s sentencing was postponed by Presiding Judge Eric DuTemple.

The initial thought of the Sheriff´s Office is that the body is that of 20 year old Edgar Delacruz of Ceres who disappeared from a house boat Sunday evening, May 25, in the same area. He was last seen on the boat deck talking on a cell phone.

By Thursday at 3:30pm positive identification of the remains will have been made by a forensic autopsy performed by the Cororner´s Office.
