Telegraph Fire Closing In On 100 Percent Containment

Mariposa, CA — Resource demobilization continues as the 53 square mile, 34,091 acre Telegraph Fire closes in on 100 percent containment today.

According to CAL Fire´s Cheryl Goetz, Sunday-to-Monday personnel have been reduced from 3,171 to 2,574. Hand crews have been reduced from 75 to 67.

In addition 90 engines and seven water tenders have been released along with 21 dozers, two helicopters and all four air tankers.

There was one additional injury Sunday bringing the total to 38. All injuries have been considered minor.

Cost of fighting the 10 day old Telegraph Fire has increased from $32,090,376 Sunday evening to $34,694,611 Monday morning.
