Many Calaveras Students Set To Begin School

San Andreas, Ca — A total of 14 schools in Calaveras County will start classes on Monday.

Calaveras High School Principal Ric Stitt says that he has 1,050 students currently registered, which is slightly more than last year.

Besides Calaveras High, Monday is also the first day at Gold Strike High, Jenny Lind Alternative, West Point Alternative, Toyon Middle School, Jenny Lind Elementary, Mokelumne Hill Elementary, Railroad Flat Elementary, San Andreas Elementary, Valley Springs Elementary, West Point Elementary, Calaveras River Academy, Angels Creek Community Day School and Oakendell Community School.

Meanwhile, classes will not begin until August 20th for Bret Harte High, Vallecito High, Mark Twain Elementary, Copperopolis Elementary, Albert Michelson Elementary, Hazel Fischer Elementary, Avery Middle School and Mountain Oaks Charter School.
