Bear Valley, Ca — The Bear Valley Music Festival kicks off Saturday night, and over the next couple of weeks an estimated 7,000 people are expected to attend.
2008 marks the 40th anniversary of the classical music celebration.
?They started in the cathedral lounge here at Bear Valley in 1968 with just a small trio of orchestra members, and since then we have grown to an 80 member orchestra,? says Music Festival Executive Director Caroline Schirato. ?We have gone from one performance, to 14 performances over two weeks time.?
Proceeds benefit the Festival and help support the Bear Valley Young Musicians Camp, which immerses students ages 11 to 17 in a weeklong musical institute.
Opening night begins at 7pm with a Frankie Valli tribute show. For more information click www.bearvalleymusic.org.
