Cotton Fire Grows In Size

Strawberry, Ca — Fire crews continue to fight what is now estimated to be a 20-25 acre vegetation fire in the Cottonwood Campground area of the Stanislaus National Forest.

The fire is located in an isolated area east of Strawberry and west of the Dardanelles. Crews are using Clark´s Fork Rd. to access the fire. Forest Service Spokesperson Pat Kaunert says it has a moderate rate of spread, and notes that no structures are currently at risk.
