California Acreage Burned Reaches Three-Quarters Of A Million Acres

Sacramento, CA — According to the latest statistics from CAL Fire California acreage burned now totals 752,944.

The number of peak fires remains at 1,781. 1,459 fires have been contained while 322 remain active.

Resources utilized to date: 19,900 personnel, 459 crews, 1,498 engines, 417 water tenders, 282 dozers, 118 helicopters and countless air tankers. Military C-130 aircraft have dropped in excess of one million gallons of retardant to date. Four Canadian air tankers are being inspected at McClellan Airfield in Sacramento for immediate service.

Areas of Butte, Kern, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Shasta counties are under evac orders at this time. Precautionary evac orders currently exist in areas in Butte, Kern, Mendocino, Monterey, Plumas, Santa Barbara and Shasta counties.

To date 100 residences, one commercial building and 126 outbuildings have been destroyed by the lightning caused fires.
