Mariposa County, CA — According to the Incident Command Center the 2,789 acre Oliver Fire is 80 percent contained with full containment still expected Saturday.
Public Information Officer Craig Tolmie says officials do not expect significant growth. Fire behavior is described as moderate.
Today´s objective is to continue finalizing containment lines on the east side of the fire and deal with unburned vegetation in the interior that is still igniting.
704 firefighters remain on site. 22 injuries have been incurred … none serious. A number of firefighters and other resources have already been demobilized and sent to other northern California fires specifically Big Sur, the Gap Fire in Santa Barbara and the Paiute Fire in Kern County.
